Time: 30 Minutes
Goal:
- Mitigate Confirmation Bias: To practice inquiring about facts and past behaviors rather than seeking validation for a specific solution.
- Uncover Latent Needs: To elicit qualitative insights that quantitative data or journey maps may have overlooked.
- Validate the Pain Point: To stress-test the "Critical Pain Point" identified in the previous Journey Mapping exercise through direct inquiry.
The Tools
Utilize a structured interview guide that focuses on historical reality rather than hypothetical futures.
- Avoid: "Would you use an app that...?" (Hypothetical / Leading).
- Adopt: "Tell me about the last time you tried to...?" (Historical / Factual).
Activities
Interview Preparation (10 mins)
Draft 3-5 high-impact questions designed to explore or validate pain points.
- Context Question: "Walk me through how you currently handle [Process X]."
- Problem Question: "What was the hardest part of that process the last time you did it?"
- Consequence Question: "Why was that hard? What did it cost you (time/money/emotion)?"
Role Assignment (2 mins)
